1. Why Choose EV Central Over Insurance-Preferred Shops or Dealership?
Most dealerships don’t have their own body shop—they typically outsource collision repairs to local facilities. In fact, EV Central provides autobody repair and services for several local dealerships. Due to non-disclosure agreements, we’re unable to name specific partners, but our trusted relationships speak to the quality of our work.
Custom tailor repair services to you to benefit you as the customer
Insurance companies often direct you to their “preferred” shops, but this is usually to secure discounts for themselves—not necessarily for your benefit. What many don’t realize is that you have the legal right to choose your own repair shop.
By choosing EV Central, you skip the middlemen and get top-quality repairs with savings passed directly to you—including deductible discounts (up to 50%-100% off!)—without compromising craftsmanship or manufacturer standards.
2. Are you experiencing delays repairing your vehicle?
We offer fast turnaround times and no wait to speak with a real person.

3. Are we Tesla Approved?
EV Central is not a Tesla-approved or Tesla-certified collision center. However, that does not affect the quality of your repair. We are I-CAR certified, which is the gold standard for collision repair training and one of the most respected credentials in the industry. Our technicians are trained to repair all makes and models — including Tesla — to strict manufacturer specifications. We also work directly with all major insurance carriers and local dealerships, so your repair process is handled professionally from start to finish.
We also back our work with a lifetime warranty on all bodywork and paint, so you can have complete confidence in the quality of every repair we perform.
4. Do you offer any warranty?
Paint Warranty
We stand behind our paintwork with a limited lifetime warranty to give you added peace of mind. We use high-quality Glasurit paint from Germany, a trusted brand used by leading car manufacturers such as Tesla, BMW, Audi, and Porsche, known for its exceptional durability and finish. If your paint ever peels, cracks, or fades due to normal wear and tear, we’ll repair it at no extra cost.
Mechanical Warranty
We provide a 1-year limited warranty on all mechanical repairs covering parts against manufacturing defects under normal use and service conditions. This warranty does not cover damage resulting from misuse, neglect, accidents, modifications, or improper maintenance.
5. Do you work on vehicles other than electric?
Yes, we sure can! We work on all gas, hybrid and electric for all makes and models.
6. Do You Provide Car Rentals?
Yes! We’ve partnered with a local rental company to offer you discounted rates on vehicle rentals during your repair.
7. Do you offer original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts?
We always try our best to use genuine OEM parts for your vehicle. If OEM parts aren’t available, we’ll find high-quality alternatives that match—or even exceed—OEM standards, so you can feel confident in the quality and safety of the repair.
8. Do you offer insurance assistance?
We are more than happy to assist you with the insurance process from start to finish. Just provide us with your claim number, and we’ll take care of the rest. We work directly with your insurance provider so you don’t have to!
Before you file a claim, we can walk you through the pros and cons to help you decide whether it’s better to pay out of pocket or file an insurance claim. Our service advisors has many years of experience as an insurance adjuster and can offer valuable insights to guide you in the right direction.
9. Can my insurance company force me to use their preferred repair shop?
California law gives every driver the right to choose any licensed repair shop for their vehicle. Insurance companies are legally prohibited from requiring you to use a specific or preferred body shop as a condition of your claim. If your insurer directs you to a particular shop, you have the right to decline and bring your vehicle to the shop of your choice — and your insurer must still cover the full cost of repairs. At EV Central, we work directly with all major insurance carriers across the San Francisco Bay Area to ensure a smooth claims process, regardless of which shop your insurer recommends.
10. What happens if I don't pick up my vehicle after repairs are complete?
Once your repairs are finished, we will contact you to arrange pickup. If your vehicle is not retrieved within 72 hours of that notification, daily storage fees will apply for each day it remains on our premises. If we are unable to reach you after 72 hours, we reserve the right to initiate a vehicle lien in accordance with California law, and a lien processing fee will also apply. To avoid any additional charges, please arrange pickup promptly or contact us at (415) 881-1845 to make arrangements.
